On March 8, Overtime Boxing shared the clip of Jake Paul revealing his face tattoo. Since that video came out, most people have believed that the 27-year-old is doing all this to promote his fight against the 57-year-old. Mike Tyson got the tattoo just before his fight against Clifford Etienne in 2003 from artist S. Victor Whitmill of Las Vegas, Nevada. Why did Tyson decide to get the tattoo? He suggested it was either this “cool” tattoo or a “really stupid” one.
However, rather than shying away from the attention or criticism, Tyson embraced his new look and even defended it in interviews. He explained that the tattoo was a tribute to Maori culture and that he had gotten it after visiting New Zealand. He also said that he had wanted to get a tattoo on his face for years, but had been dissuaded by his advisors and trainers.
In 2022, Paul was scheduled to face Fury for August 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, but Fury withdrew once again due to travel issues. On July 7, it was announced that Paul would face American professional boxer Hasim Rahman Jr., however, the event was canceled on July 30 due to weight issues from Rahman.
On February 18, 2022, in a class-action lawsuit filed against the cryptocurrency company SafeMoon that alleged the company is a pump and dump scheme, Paul was named as a defendant along with musician Nick Carter, rappers Soulja Boy and Lil Yachty, and social media personality Ben Phillips for promoting the SafeMoon token on their social media accounts with misleading information as part of the 2022 Safemoon fraud allegations. On the same day, the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in a lawsuit against Bitconnect that the Securities Act of 1933 extends to targeted solicitation using social media. In March 2022, YouTuber Coffeezilla uploaded a video box in yahoo.com which he accused Paul of using cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens to scam his fans out of $2.2 million.
Years have passed since Mike Tyson last entered the ring! However, he seems ready to do it again against 27-year-old Jake Paul. While some fans are worried about the legend, others are confident about Tyson’s ability to still throw down if needed. However, only time will tell what happens on July 20. Who do you think will be the last fighter standing?
Tyson has another tattoo that perfectly matches the Maori martial ornament on his face – the image of an aggressive tiger preparing to jump. The drawing evokes Eastern traditions, reminiscent of the idea of the dragon, which signifies nobility, bravery, strength, and power.
When news of the bout was first announced, many celebrated what they hoped would be an opportunity to see the former YouTube star get his clock cleaned. Faced with arguably the most dangerous fighter in boxing history, surely there could be no other outcome. Yet, as details of the rules began to emerge, it started to look more like a dance rehearsal than a boxing match. Now, the former heavyweight world champion says that’s not the case.
In December, Paul was originally scheduled to face English professional boxer Tommy Fury on December 18 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, but Fury withdrew due to medical issues. On December 6, it was announced that Paul would be rematching Woodley instead. Paul defeated Woodley via knockout in the 6th round. The event reportedly generated 200,000 pay-per-view buys. After the bout, Paul was awarded the ESPN Ringside Award for ‘Knockout of the year’ over his victory on Woodley.
Yarde (24-3, 23 KOs), 32, from Ilford in east London, was stopped in eight rounds by unified titleholder Artur Beterbiev in January and got his career back on track with a simple win over late replacement Silva (22-9, 12 KOs), from Portugal.
As a result, Tyson was disqualified from the fight, fined more than $3 million, and had his boxing license suspended (though it was reinstated a year later.) He later tried to explain why he’d bitten Holyfield, saying at a press conference:
The fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is happening July 20th at AT&T Stadium, and of course, will be streamed over on Netflix. I’m sure we’ll see a lot more antics ahead of the big fight, so I’m making sure my schedule is cleared that weekend and keeping an eye on both of their social media accounts.
Apart from the belated release from the Chinese boxing authorities and the promotional companies’ fiasco, Zhang’s peak years were also squandered because of visa troubles as a Chinese citizen which led to the cancellation of several bouts. While he stuck outside the U.S., his form dropped as he could not train as he usually did.
i’ve just found the original photo of Mike Tyson from the Jake Paul poster, it was taken 19 years ago and they photoshopped a recent tattoo on it to make it look like a recent picturewe are dealing with levels of shamelessness that we have never seen before pic.twitter.com/k26NoBCK4x
If getting a face tattoo isn’t strange enough, Tyson also has an original tattoo of Chinese leader Mao Zedong on his right arm. For those whose history is a little shabby, Mao Zedong was the founder of the People’s Republic of China. He remains a controversial figure, with the majority of Chinese citizens believing him a great leader for ending decades of civil war and reuniting the country as one, while the rest of the world sees him as a dictator whose rule resulted in the deaths of close to 80 million people through his policies.
